Our Story

We met in the summer of 2019 at Florida State University College of Medicine. After our very first week of orientation, we struck up a conversation on the bus ride home after a day spent learning about the health of migrant farm workers. Although the conversation was riveting, Priya thought it had ended—and promptly fell asleep, much to Shemar's dismay.

Our next real conversation didn’t happen until six months later at the Halloween party. Shemar had grown a beard (which, to Priya’s surprise, made him quite handsome and kept her attention 😉), and we ended up chatting the night away—this time, Priya stayed awake! A month later, Shemar asked Priya to be his girlfriend, and we’ve been together ever since.

After graduating from medical school in 2023, Shemar popped the question in Miami—where we had just started residency together at Jackson Memorial Hospital, spending our intern year side by side. It’s been a journey filled with late-night study sessions, endless hospital shifts, and so much laughter in between.

We love traveling together, trying new foods, and always planning our next meal or getaway. Now, we’re so excited to begin this next chapter—side by side once again, but this time, as husband and wife.
